Our default is to start with coaching-based solutions but there are times when coaching needs to be supplemented by mentoring and our expertise allows us to develop competencies through training.

Founding Partner

Graham Silverthorne

Graham’s expertise derives primarily from his extensive school leadership experience but he has also worked in banking, retail and the legal service sectors. For more than 21 years, Graham was the leader of four large schools in three different countries and was a member of three School Boards. Originally from the UK, where he led schools in Cambridge and Bristol, Graham was Principal at ESF South Island School in Hong Kong for seven and a half years before rounding off his career in schools as Head of the renowned United World College of South East Asia (East), the largest not for profit international K-12 school in the world. From 2019, he was Managing Partner at Takumi X, part of the Takumi Associates organisation. He is an accredited Performance Coach (ILM), coaching workshop leader and coach trainer. He trained as a futures thinker with the National College of School Leadership, as a School Improvement Partner and Local Leader in Education and is an accredited team visitor with the Council for International Schools. Graham writes a popular leadership blog and had his first book ‘50 Years United’ published in 2021. He lives with his wife in the UK but retains strong personal and business connections with South East Asia, where he supports schools and individual clients.
